Last fall, I started trail running with a group of amazing moms along the rugged trails in our spectacular neighbourhood of Lynn Valley. This weekend, I’m joining them on my first half-marathon, and I can’t wait.
The Half Corked Marathon takes place on Saturday (May 23) through the wineries and vineyards of Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country. You read that right. This is my kind of run!

Inspired by the legendary Medoc Marathon in Bordeaux, the Half Corked Marathon is homage to one of Canada’s most celebrated wine regions. Participants get sample wines from the Oliver Osoyoos Winery Association—some of the country’s best—along the 18-kilometre route.
The 650 tickets were in such hot demand that they were distributed via a lottery.
I’ll give you a full rundown after the event. In the meantime, watch for updates on Twitter and wish me luck! For now, it's time to train: three sips Chardonnay, two-minute run. Two sips Merlot, 10 pushups. One sip Sauvignon Blanc, 20 jumping jacks...
